| The nurses and
doctors jokingly call him "maestro." Once, he was a
composer, and his work was found in theaters across the United
States and Europe. Quite suddenly, his music began to deteriorate, first with slight imbalances, eventually collapsing into painful jumbles of notes. Three months later, when he assaulted a concierge in the Four Seasons, he was forced into The Asylum. That was nine years ago. Now he sits in his chair, clutching the musical scores to popular works of the twentieth century, and listening to a small radio designed in the 1950s. |
